ALBANY, NY - Sonia W.A. Gorousingh, 75, entered into eternal rest on April 24, 2021 at home with her family.
She was born on September 8, 1945 daughter of the late Lorna Philp and Wilfred Dent in Jamaica.
Sonia is survived by her beloved husband of 51 years, Gifford Gorousingh; children Sean, Anne, Natanya (Kevin) and Terry (Kereama),
Her seven Grandchildren Antonio, Latrice, Vinston, Andrew, Jazlyn, Brianne and Jelani, Great Granddaughter Leyomi, also a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Sonia was the sister of Yvonne, Sheila, Maxine, Patrick, Laurice, Paulette, Heather, Norman, Gillian and Simone.
She was predeceased by Father Wilfred, Mother Lorna, Brother Clive, Aunt Maureen, Uncles Carel and Vinston
Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 7, 2021 from 9-11am at Macedonia Baptist Church. A funeral service will follow at 11am. Interment will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be sent to the College scholarship fund at Macedonia Baptist Church located at 26 Wilson Ave, Albany NY 12205 in honor of Sonia Gorousingh.
