Sophie Jean Cooper, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, sister and friend, passed away at home at the age of 95 on July 5, 2022.
Sophie Jean was born in Hurleyville, New York, on January 23, 1927, to the late Mary and Peter Andresky. It was there that she, as a young telephone operator, met and married the love of her life, Frank. They moved to Albany, New York to raise their family. She retired from AT&T in 1992. She also enjoyed her years at Macy's as a personal shopper.
Sophie Jean leaves behind her beloved and loving family. Her two daughters, Jane Cooper Freihofer and Christine (Eugene) Lischynsky, her sister Jeannette LaRuffa, sister-in-law Theresa Androwsky; nieces Lauretta (Robert) Flynn and family, Janice (John) Carr and family, Jill Andresky (Steve) Fraser and family, Mary Ann LaRuffa Campbell, Angela LaRuffa and Brenda Gish and family; nephews Stephen Kuchta and family, Frank (Jennifer) LaRuffa and family, Paul Andresky and family, and Michael Slater and family; Grandchildren Katie Cooper (Aaron) Lewis, Sara (Mario) Cortes, Kelly Lischynsky, and Nick Lischynsky. Great-grandchildren Rose Lewis, Sylvie Lewis and Ibraham Lischynsky.
She is predeceased by her husband Franklin I. Cooper Jr., and treasured son Thomas Scott Cooper. Brothers (Helen) William, Andresky, Fedor (Freddie) Androwsky, Stephen (Lynn) Andresky, John (Barbara) Andresky, and Nicholas Andresky; Sister, Ann (Ted) Kuchta; brother in law, Joseph LaRuffa; Nieces June Andresky and Lori Andresky; nephews Dean Andresky, Ted Kuchta, Peter Andresky, Michael Andresky, Brian Slater; sister-in-law Sally Slater; nephew-in-law John Campbell, and granddaughter-in-law Nia Lischynsky.
Private services will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals.
