Sophie F. Cordi

GUILDERLAND – Sophie F. Cordi, 94, passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Sophie was born on August 1, 1915 in Albany and was the daughter of the late Adam and Stella (Zykowski) Prusinski. She enjoyed baking – especially apple pies and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Sophie is survived by her son, Vincent J. (Grace) Cordi of Guilderland; her daughter, Frances M. (Robert) O'Keefe of Guilderland; her grandchildren, Vincent J. (Kelly) Cordi Jr., John (Robin) Cordi, and Sheri (Russ) Tallman; her great-grandchildren, Brandon and Chase Tallman, Nellie and Sophia Cordi, and Tristen Cordi; her brother, John Prusinski and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Vincent D. Cordi; her brothers, Walter and Joseph Prusinski and her sisters, Stella Drebitko, Frances Lindeman and Pauline "Ginger" Pierce.
Funeral services will be held at 8:00 a.m. Friday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.) then to Blessed Sacrament Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Colonie. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Schenectady, 1411 Union St., Schenectady, NY 12308 in memory of Sophie F. Cordi.
