COLONIE, NY – Staff Sergeant Amy C. (Seyboth) Tirador, 29, lost her life in service to her country on November 4, 2009 in Iraq. Born in Albany on July 18, 1980, she was a resident of Colonie for most of her life. Amy was a 1998 graduate of South Colonie Central High School where she was an extremely accomplished trumpet player. She attended Environmental Science and Forestry where she was a member of the Syracuse University Orangeman marching band. Amy joined the Army Reserves in 1999 and enlisted into active duty in 2001 as an Army Combat Medic. Her first duty assignment was in Germany with the 1st Infantry Division. In 2003 she went to Turkey in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. In 2004 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom II, as a Corporal, she was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for actions as a medic during combat. In 2005 Amy decided to re-class from combat medic to an Arabic linguist as well as a human intelligence collector, assigned to 3rd BDE, 2nd INF. DIV. Amy is the beloved wife of SFC Michael Tirador. She is the cherished daughter of Colleen (Don Pathen) Murphy and Gerard Seyboth and his wife, Liz. Amy is the devoted sister of April (Jason) McAllister and Evan Seyboth. She is the loving granddaughter of Thomas E. and Marion J. Murphy, Sr. and the late Harold and Josephine Seyboth. She is the niece of Ken (Elizabeth) Seyboth, Colleen Mary (Peter) Seyboth Kajano, Ann Blais and Thomas E. Murphy, Jr. Amy is the daughter-in-law of George and Florentina Tirador. She is the dearest cousin of Aron and Ranee'. Amy also leaves her very dear friend, Marli Tirador and her daughter, Caitlin as well as the Briones Family, The Gonzales Family and her husband's late aunt, Kimberly Briones, with whom she was very close. Also surviving are many cousins and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m. at Reach Out Fellowship on Osborne Rd., Colonie. Calling hours will be Monday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Interment with full military honors will be in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
