ALBANY- Stanley C. Marks, 88, of Albany, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 under the care of Hospice at the Veterans Administration Hospital,surrounded by his loving family
He was born in Albany and was the son of the late Stanley and Elizabeth Markowski. Stan served in the US Navy during WWII on the USS LST379. He worked as a machinist at the Watervliet Arsenal for thirty years, retiring in 1983. Stan was a member of the Joseph A. Zaloga American Legion Post. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and family vacations.
Stan was predeceased in 2007 by his beloved wife, Marjorie Gillette Marks. He is the beloved father of Gail A. Crisafulli and Joan M. (Richard) Varcoe. He is the cherished grandfather of Nicole Crisafulli, Allan (Gabby) Varcoe and Colette Crisafulli (Tim Coffey). He is the great grandfather of Ethan Varcoe. Stan will be dearly missed by his longtime canine companion, Toby.
Funeral services will be Saturday morning at 9:15 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie then to Mater Christi Parish, 35 Hurst Ave., Albany at 10:00 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice in memory of Stanley C. Marks.
