SCHENECTADY – Stanley Hallak, 94, of Schenectady, passed away peacefully on Thursday July 21, 2011 at Ellis Hospital.
He was born in Castleton on the Hudson and was the son of the late Fred and Josephine Hallak. Stanley served in the US Marine Corp during WWII in the Pacific Theatre. He was employed with National Yeast Company for 25 years and was later self employed providing baker's products to several bakeries and restaurants throughout the Capital District, retiring in 2009.
Stanley is the beloved husband of forty two years to Annetta Dean Hallak. He is the father of Beverly Kehoe Shea, Karen Hallak, Linda Hallak, James (Caroline) Hallak and Steven (Donnie) Hallak. Stepfather of Ralph (Ansje) Dean, Joseph (Arlene) Deana and Anthony (Patricia) Dean. He is the brother of the late Charles (Adele) Hallak and Mary (Edward) Peters. He is also survived by 2 grandson, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Tuesday morning at 10:00 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie then Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Schenectady at 11:00 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Monday evening from 5 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery. At the request of the family, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 7 Washington Square, Albany, NY 12205 or Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 1255 Pleasant Street, Schenectady, NY 12303 in memory of Stanley Hallak.
