COLONIE – Stanley L. Kelly, 78, passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2006 at the VA Medical Center in Albany, surrounded by his loving family.
Stanley was born on June 19, 1928 in Halcott Center, NY and was the son of the late Emerson D. and Mildred Ballard Kelly. He served in the US Marine Corps from 1948 to 1952, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was a dairy farmer in Halcott Valley for 38 years before moving his family to Colonie. He then worked for the Golub Corporation as an electrician for 16 years before retiring in 1993. He was very active in the Boy Scouting program and was a member of the VFW Post #8692 in Colonie.

Stanley is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Anna P. Kelly; his children, JoAnn (Steve) Catsos, Janice (Marvin) Hammond, Kevin (Tim Haller) Kelly and Keith (Joanne) Kelly; his grandchildren, Christopher, Ashleigh, Jennifer, Scott, Brendan, Kathryn and Matty; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Odell and Robert.
Calling hours will be at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.) on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral services and burial will take place in Halcott Center, NY.
