Stasia T. Lamanda

FREEHOLD, NY – Stasia T. LaManda, 87, passed away at home, surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, June 5, 2012. She was born in Poland and immigrated to the United States in her late teens. Stasia worked for the A&P bakery, S.U.N.Y. Albany and Freihofer's Baking Company from where she retired. Mrs. LaManda was a great lover of all animals, especially cats. She will be remembered as a generous, kind and caring person, always ready to help others.

Stasia is the devoted mother of Michael (Gail) LaManda of Freehold and the late John LaManda. She is the cherished grandmother of Jessica and Jonah LaManda. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. In addition to her son, Stasia was predeceased by her beloved husband Joseph LaManda. Her family would like to extend a special thank you to Stasia's caregivers, Margaret and Bridget and to the staff and volunteers of Columbia Greene Community Hospice.


Funeral services will be Friday at 12:00 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). A calling hour will precede the service from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie. Memorial contributions may be made to Columbia-Greene Community Hospice, 47 Liberty Street, Catskill, NY 12414 in memory of Stasia T. LaManda.
