GUILDERLAND- Stella Sheehy, of Guilderland passed away into heaven surrounded by her loving family at Albany Memorial Hospital on Tuesday evening.
She was born in Mooers, NY and was the daughter of the late Albert and Emma Nephew on October 23, 1926 and then moved to Albany as a young lady. Stella raised her four daughters while working at various restaurants as a waitress, sometimes as many as four jobs at one time. She was employed by the Golden Fox restaurant for 25 years where she made many lifelong friends.
Stella was an avid golfer and enjoyed tennis and gardening. She spent many winters in Florida and her hobbies included playing cards, sewing, games, crocheting and traveling. She was a parishioner of St. Madeline Sophie Church. She will be sadly missed by her loving family.
Stella is the beloved mother of Nancy (Dick) Finley, Diane Yetto, Eileen (Mike) Aviza, and Brenda (Michael) Burnett. She is the cherished grandmother of Rich (Dawn) Finley, Shoby (Tracy) Finley, Shelly (Adam) Peck, Skylar, McKenzie, Chloe and Spencer Aviza, Nick Warnken, Chantel and Mikyla Burnett. Great grandmother of Robbie, Nathaniel, Dakota and the late Brooke. She is the sister of Carl (Catherine) Nephew, Eva (Charles) Drown, Ruby (Dick) Nephew and the late Irene, Leo, Wilmer, Lillian, Bertha, Earl, Delsia, Pearl, Harold and Richard. She is also survived by many devoted nieces, nephews and loving friends.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Friday from 1 to 3 pm at NewComer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). A memorial service in celebration of Stella's life will take place at 3:00 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
