Stephen H. Alven, 86 years old, passed away Friday, August 20,2021 at Albany Medical Center. Born November 6, 1934, in Evanston, Illinois. He was the son of the late Alfons and Helen Hill Alven.
Mr. Alven attended Pebble Hill School in Syracuse and received his Bachelors Degree from Dartmouth College and his Masters Degree at Syracuse University. He served in the U.S. Army. He worked in advertising for most of his life, retiring from Mehigan, Robert, and Bellone. After retiring he worked at the Manheim Auto Auction.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Alven of Schenectady. His children, Sandra L. Alven of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; David A. Alven (Gina) of Johnson City, Tennessee. His wife's children, Jennifer L. McCollum, of Rotterdam; Matthew J. Daley (Liza) of Schenectady. His grandchildren, Stephen Ullah, Helene Ullah, Paige Seneker, Lucas Alven, Martin McCollum, Jr. MacKenzie McCollum, Reagan Daley, Quinn Daley. His brother, David H. Alven (Katherine) of Bluffton, South Carolina.
Steve loved his family and friends and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. He enjoyed reading and watching T.V. Steve will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved him.
The family would like to thank the staff at Albany Medical Center, especially the Neurological Trauma ICU, for their care and compassion.
