Lawlor, Stephen F.
Albany – Stephen F. Lawlor, 94, passed away peacefully Friday March 5, 2010 at St. Peter's Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born in Albany the son of the late William and Eugenia (Marlo) Lawlor and was a lifelong area resident. He was a combat veteran of the US Marine Corps during WW II, having served in the Pacific Theatre. Stephen worked for Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930's and then worked for Penn Central Railroad for forty years. He was an avid golfer and bowler and enjoyed singing, but most of all he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Stephen was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth C. (McKean) Lawlor who passed away December 29, 2009.
He is survived by his children: Stephen (Jacquelyn) Lawlor, John C. Lawlor, Jane (Lawrence) Berben and Marybeth (Sandy) Fader, grandchildren: Renee, Steve, Hollie, Jennie, Larry, Emily, Dylan and Derek and great-grandchildren: Zachary, Jeffrey, Connor and Lauryn. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by three brothers and three sisters.
Stephen's family would like to thank the third floor staff of St. Peter's Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their loving care.
The funeral services will be Monday 9:30am from New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie then to Blessed Sacrament Church, Albany where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am. Calling hours will be Sunday 4:00 to 7:00pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Blessed Sacrament Church, 607 Central Ave., Albany, NY 12206.
