Broadalbin- Stephen R. Genis, 89, passed away on April 5, 2022 with his family by his side.
He was born on May 4, 1932 son of the late Stephen and Helen (Sokach) Genis in Broadalbin, NY.
Steve was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy. He retired from GE after over 30 years of service. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Steve was an avid outdoorsman, he loved camping, fishing and hunting. His most cherished memories were always the time he spent with his family. He will be dearly missed.
Steve was predeceased by his beloved wife Erma (Hart) Genis; and his sister, Elaine.
He is survived by Cynthia VanWormer (Donald), Valerie Geren (Thomas); grandchildren, Jenna VanWormer, Courtney VanWormer, Nicholas Geren, Alesha Proskin; great-grandchildren, Jeremy and Jace and special friend Rita Hinkle.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 from 5-7pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205. A funeral service to celebrate Steve's life will be on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at 10am at New Comer Cremations & Funerals. Interment will follow at Ephratah.
