COLONIE - Stephen M. George, Jr., 64, passed away on Monday, April 4, 2011 at Albany Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Stephen was born in Albany on December 25, 1946 and was the son of the late Stephen M. and Salvina (Brunet) George, Sr. He was a life long resident of Colonie. He was a graduate of South Colonie High School and served proudly in the US Navy during the Vietnam War.
Stephen is survived by his loving wife of over 22 years, Margaret S. George; his loving children, Stephen M. George III, Kelly Guimond and Jeffrey George; his stepsons, David and John Belus; his sister, Josephine Benitez; his brother, Michael (Deborah) George; his cherished grandchildren, Marissa, Dominique, Brittany, Trevor, Samantha, Patrick, Jackob, Christian and Cody. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 440 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205 or to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 5 Computer Drive West, Suite 100, Albany, NY 12205 in memory of Stephen M. George, Jr.
