Stephen J. Rzany passed away suddenly on Monday, September 16, 2024 at St. Peter’s Hospital. Steve was born in Albany, NY and lived in Voorheesville, NY his entire life. He was the son of Charles and Sadie (Skalski) Rzany.

Steve served in the U.S. Army and was stationed at Shape Air Force Base in Belgium as a Fireman and honorably discharged. After leaving the service, he worked for the New York State Department of Health - Wadsworth Center - Griffin Laboratory, Guilderland, NY until retirement. 

Steve’s passions were hunting, fishing, cooking, and, most of all, motorcycling. He started riding motorcycles at a very young age. His love for cycling included dirt biking, ice racing (side-car), collecting motorcycles (buying, selling, trading) and amassing an enormous amount of motorcycle-related items (trinkets, books, magazines, posters and parts). 

Steve is predeceased by his father Charlie; mother Sadie; sisters Carol Dickson, Katherine (Kit) Schryver, and Dorothy Deleskiewicz. 

He is survived by his nephews Scott Dickson (Sing), Kevin Deleskiewicz (Joan), William Deleskiewicz (Barbara), and William Schryver; and nieces Christy Schryver and Cheryl Schryver. 

A service will be held October 5, 2024, from 12:00 p.m.- 2:00 p.m. at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, NY (Rt. 155-south of Central Avenue). 

As a remembrance, contributions may be made to your local food pantry in memory of Stephen J. Rzany.

Calling hours will be held on October 5, 2024 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A Celebration of Life will be held at 68 North Main Street in Voorheesville, following the services.
