Stephen P. Scribner, 65, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, September 13, 2024, making his tee time with Jo B.
Steve found his true calling in cooking early in his career. He worked at Geppetto's restaurant for over 20 years and then joined Price Chopper, where he was a food service manager for over 20 years, until his retirement. He loved cooking for his family and friends and especially made the poker girls happy with his delicious stromboli's.
Another passion of Steve's was golf, he was a member of the Sandbaggers Golf League, where he was the secretary for over 40 years. He especially loved the money matches he played before the league.
Steve was also a longtime member of the Rotterdam Elks.
Some of Steve's most cherished memories were of his family vacations to the Jersey Shore.
He loved his Saturday "Shenanigans" with family and friends and "grazing" all day. But most of all Grandpa Steve loved the time he got to spend with his grandchildren. He sparked joy and much laughter in the lives of those around him, especially his family. Steve was an incredible source of entertainment to those who spent time with him.
Steve was the son of the late Ernest and Frances Scribner. He was the devoted husband of 23 years to Joanne C. Scribner.
In addition to his wife, Steve is survived by his children Todd (Angela), Stephen (Lynn), Jay (Cori) and Billy (Jennifer). He was the cherished grandfather of Emma, Austin, Chelsea, Brooke, Emma, Lexi, Chance and Hunter. He was the brother of Bonnie (Wayne), Deborah, Denise (Jim), Peter (Sue), Bobby and Paul. He is also survived by his brother-in-laws; Jack and Jim (Diane) as well as several nieces, nephews and close friends.
There will be no viewing or services at Steve's request. There will be a celebration of life at a later date and burial will be private.
