Steven Thomas Beattie

Steven Thomas Beattie, 47, of Schenectady, was called home, unexpectedly, on the early morning of November 18, 2023.

Steven was born on October 29, 1976 to Linda Smith Beattie and Thomas Beattie in Holyoke, Massachusetts.

He was a great man, loved by many.

Steven is survived by his only son, Steven Beattie Jr. (Schuyler Rushmeyer)

Steven is also survived by his mother, Linda Smith Beattie, wife Melissa McAvoy Beattie. His sisters Lisa Beattie (Joe Tarver) and Lynnsay Battaglia (Travis Cupp), brothers Thomas and Todd Beattie. Step children, many nieces and nephews and aunts Penny Smith Crandell (Randy Crandell), Brenda Martin (Mikel Martin), and uncles Gene Smith, and Kenneth Smith (Lisa Smith).

Steven is also predeceased by his by his father Thomas Beattie, grandparents Gene and Shirley Smith, and his uncles Bruce Smith, Kurt Smith, Freddie Smith, also aunt Karen Smith.

Steven had the most beautiful eyes and a smile to match; he instantly lit up every room he walked into. Steven was a devoted father, and an avid fisherman. He enjoyed camping and the outdoors. Steven worked in black topping for many years, he also had a passion for automobiles. Steven most loved time spent with his family. He will be deeply missed by friends, family, and all who knew him.

The world will be a lot less bright without him, but our memories will never dim.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours on Tuesday November 28, 2023 from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Furnerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. All are invited to attend his memorial service following at 1:45 p.m.
