Steven 'Steve' Brophy, 62, spread his wings to find his eternal peace in heaven May 2, 2022.

Born September 5, 1959 in Niskayuna, New York. The son of the late Elijah T. Brophy Jr. and Rosemary Brophy.

Steven graduated from Niskayuna High School, pursuing a career in welding. He continuously worked to improve his skills & classification titles, reaching the title of welder class 5. Dedicating his 40yrs of services between two companies, Begin Welding Services and Philips Medical Systems Inc. He fondly described his co-workers as friends. Welding only being one of his many skill sets he obtained over his lifetime. Capable of fixing almost anything put in front of him, mechanical, electrical, construction or otherwise. If Steve didn't already know the solution, he would seek and gain the knowledge or training it took to do so. Even planning, creating, installing the entire solar panel system for his home. He also had a gift for tuning and playing the guitar, and who everyone went to set up their sound system & equalizer to perfection with the music. With a lifetime fishing license, Steve's biggest passion was fishing, especially out on a boat. Whether it be on the river, a lake or ocean spending the day or night fishing with loved ones.Drawn to the water, Steve also discovered a love for scuba diving. Receiving his open water diving certifications with the most established requirements of both the NAUI and PADI organizations. When not in or on the water, he would be found tinkering on projects in the garage, riding his motorcycle, and enjoying Playstation video games. Another favorite pastime of his was going off-roading and riding dirt bikes with his daughter, Kris. He had a good-natured heart and lovingly helped to care for his elderly mother and disabled brother throughout their time of need. Steven strong in his faith, trusted in God's plan while here on earth and for his eternal spirit.

Survived by his daughter Kris Brophy of Schenectady, NY, brothers; Richard T. Brophy(Peggy) of Cambridge, NY, and Edward Brophy(Debbie) of Oldsmar, FL, Sister; Diane Brophy Lohmeyer(Lenny) of Pattersonville NY and 11 nieces and nephews.

Steven was predeceased by brother Leigh T. Brophy, sister Linda Brophy Morse and sister Nancy J. Brophy.

Steven's celebration of life ceremony will be held September 10th 2022 2pm at the Lock 9 State Canal Park in Rotterdam Junction NY.
