SCHENECTADY- Stewart A. 'Stew' Tucker, 91, passed away in his home, on Friday, April 10, 2015, with his loving family, and his dog, Finnegan, by his side.
Born May 7, 1923 in Burlington VT to Elizabeth Brassard and Clarence Tucker. Stewart was educated in Albany schools and was of the Catholic Faith.
While working at the Federal Bake Shop, he met the love of his life, Katherine Watrous and they were married April 26, 1947. Stewart was a chef and baker by trade working at many area restaurants including the DeWitt Clinton Hotel, Edison Club and the original Crosstown Diner. Stewart loved to read, working on projects around the house, and he was proud of his house. He also loved playing pinochle, and music. He played a mean harmonica. He had many loves, but his family was his most treasured.
Stewart is survived by his wife of 68 years, Katherine Watrous, his six children; Irene Denise Baldovino of Utica, NY, Sharon (Robert) DuBois of Vicksburg MS, Stephen (Deborah) Tucker of Ballston Lake, Carol (Mark) Reedy, Michelle (Frank), Barbera and Dale Tucker of Schenectady, his ten grandchildren; Anita (Andrew) Thomas of Utica, Philip Baldovino of Torrence CA, Robert (Diana) DuBois, Christopher DuBois, and Renee DuBois of Vicksburg MS, Joseph (Jennifer) Paige of Schenectady, Jalon (Maria) Blunt of Philadelphia PA, Kimberly (Joseph) Haley, Joseph (Xiomara) Barbera of Schenectady, and Michael (Crystal) Tucker of Clifton Park, his sister, Joyce Lynch of New Orleans, and 29 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Stewart is predeceased by his parents, his sisters; Irene, and June, and his brothers, Kenneth, John Henry and Son in Law Efren Baldovino
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205, on Thursday, 4/16/15, from 4:00pm-7:00pm, with a funeral service held the next day at 10:00am.
