Schenectady - Sue Castell, 46, died Wednesday June 18,2008 at Ellis Hospital due to liver disease and kidney failure complications arising from gastric bypass surgery.
She is survived by her fiance Walt Kane, her children; Robert Jr. (Rosalie) Cory (Ashley) Vanessa (John) Melissa (The late Anthony Brown), Norman (Rebecca), Christopher, and Justin Castell, her grandchildren; Corianna, Alexander, Alexia, and Jason. She is also survived by 6 brothers and 5 sisters, she was predeceased by one brother Earl Spooner and one sister, Linda Claus.
She was born in Amsterdam, NY the daughter of the late Frank and Mildred Spooner. As a young woman she attended Salmon River Central School in Fort Covington NY, where she met and later married Robert Castell Sr. in 1979. For the past seven years she has lived and worked in Rotterdam, working for the Galesi Group as a secretary and in grounds maintenance. She was a loving, caring mother of 7 and a devoted grandmother who was an avid Nascar and Wrestling Fan, she had an enormously open heart and a willingness to put herself second to her family and friends. At the age of 46 she received her GED, one of her desired accomplishments
