Susan A. Barre

Susan A. Barre, 92, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Rosewood Gardens, surrounded by her loving family. Susan was born in Albany to the late James and Ethel Allanson. For many years Susan was a homemaker, but she also worked for General Electric during World War II, B.T. Babbitt in Albany and later with New York State Department of Labor as a clerk, until retirement. In addition to her parents, Susan was predeceased by her loving husband of over 49 years, Gerard Barre.
Susan is survived by her beloved children; Marion (Ralph) Leizer, Alan (Rosemarie), Ric (Carol) and Kevin Barre. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and several nieces, and close friends.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 2, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at McKownville United Methodist Church, Albany. Burial will be at the privacy of the family.
