Niskayuna – On February 1, 2010 Susan A. (Baker) Carey "Susie", of Niskayuna went home to be with the Lord after a long and courageous battle with C.O.P.D.
Susie was born June 29th 1948 in Albany, New York to the late Bob and Sally George. She is survived by her dearly beloved husband and devoted caregiver Roger "Sonny" Carey, her 2 sons: Robert Baker (Stephanie) of Schenectady and Eric Baker (Cari) of Mechanicsville, MD, 7 grandchildren: Zoey, Erin, Shannon, Odessa, Liam, Ryan and Gavin, brother Andy George (Tedie) of Saratoga and sister Nancy George of Albany. She is also survived by her extended family of 4 children and is "Mamma" to 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, a niece and nephew, sister and brother-in-laws.
Susie was employed by Kmart Corp., Hallmark Nursing Home and Town of Niskayuna. She enjoyed spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren. Her hobbies included boating, bowling, crocheting and she had a love for visiting the Casino's (Slots).
Susie will be dearly missed by her loving family, neighbors and friends. We would like to thank Hospice for their support and all the people that surrounded her in her time of need.
The funeral service will be Thursday 11:00 am at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Calling hours will be Wednesday 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
