Susan Anthony

ALBANY-Susan B. Anthony, 74, of Albany passed away on Monday, September 17, 2012 at Community Hospice. She was born in Jersey City, NJ, the daughter of the late Sergent and Martha Morton Anthony. Susan was a resident of Albany most of her life. She graduated from Coeymans Ravena Selkirk High School in 1953 and resided in Ravena until her marriage to Thomas Williams, Sr. Susan furthered her education with Manpower training center, earning a certificate to work as a secretary. She was employed by the Dept. of Taxation and Finance and later with the NYS Recreation Dept. Susan also was employed in the housekeeping department of the VA. Later in life, she was a nanny for nine years, looking after the family of Dr. Laura Staff and Dr. John Powell in the Albany area, until her health prevented her.
Susan is the loving mother of Mary N. (Walter) Williams of Albany and Gary T. (Shoshanna) Williams, Sr. of Albany, loving grandmother of Tashemina C. Williams of Albany, Demetrius Selby of Highland Falls, Tenisha Williams of Highland Falls, Adamina A. Cowan of Albany, Gary T. Williams, Jr. of Highland Falls, Synnia C. Cowan of Albany, Abiyah Yahudah, of Albany and Eliakad Yahudah of Albany. She is also survived by her great grandchildren Devon A. Williams, Tatyana M. Williams, Destiny I. B. Williams, Ellianna Rivera, Yasmin Rivera, Gabriella Rivera, Makala Rivera, O'Niajah N. Deere, and Au'Dre S. Chappell, along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Kevin Anthony.
Calling hours will be held from 11:00 Am to 12:00PM on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie with a funeral service to immediately follow at 12:00 PM at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Grove Cemetery, Coeymans
