Susan Chilandese

GUILDERLAND – Susan B. Chilandese, 62, of Guilderland, passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at the Inn of Community Hospice, surrounded by her family. Susan embraced her illness with the same zest and positive outlook that she lived her life with. Born in Rochester, NY she is the daughter of John E. Wurst and the late Jean Wurst.
Susan worked as a supervisor for over 38 years with New York State Dept. of Motor Vehicles, retiring in 2003. Susan was involved with Community Caregivers, Guilderland Pop Warner and was an avid Syracuse Orangeman fan. She enjoyed gardening, traveling and playing bingo with her friends. Susan was a genuine caregiver that was always helping others, especially the elderly. She was concerned about everyone else and had a willingness to try anything new. Susan will forever be remembered for her huge heart and her kind spirit.
She is the beloved wife of 42 years to Jerald J. Chilandese. She is the devoted mother of Tracey L. Chilandese and her fiancé, Robert G. Turner. She is the sister of Sandra Chisholm and cherished aunt of Scott Chisholm and his family, Karen D'Alonzo and her family and Kevin Chilandese. Susan's family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr.'s Perkins, Wu and Ben and the staff of NY Oncology & Hematology for all of the care and support given to Susan during her illness.
Funeral services will be Friday at 12:00 noon at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie )Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Friday from 10:00am to 12:00 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
