Susan Espey

Schenectady- Susan M. Espey, 56, passed away on Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at the Community Hospice Inn at St. Peters Hospital. Born in Niskayuna she was the daughter of the late Gary and Lois Coon. Susan enjoyed going to the beaches and casinos and especially "Breakfast at Tiffany's". She was a loving and proud mother who enjoyed time spent with her son, granddaughter and family. Susan worked for the NYS Dept of Taxation and Finance for 36 years retiring in June of 2006. She had also worked for Hannaford Supermarket as a cashier for the last five years. She is predeceased by her former husband David Espey.
Susan is survived by her beloved son Richard "Rick" D. Espey and his girlfriend Erin Edwards of Colonie, her cherished granddaughter Katelyn Edwards, her brothers; Jeffrey M. Coon of Colonie and Thomas G. Coon, her sisters; Sandy Williams of Clifton Park, Lisa Hughes of Colonie and Jennifer Aumand of Latham. She is survived by her former father-in-law David "Freddy" Espey, Sr., her dearest and closest friend Mary Ann Berben and her best friends Artie and Jo-Ann Smith. Susan was also the proud aunt of Jason and Ashley Hughes and father Shawn Hughes.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 8:00 AM at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). A Mass of Christian Burial will then be celebrated at 9:00 AM at St. Clare's Church, Central Ave., Colonie. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
