Susan Krauss Guhin, age 68 of Ballston Lake and Albany passed away in her home early Thursday May 12, 2022 after a long illness. She will be remembered as a genuinely kind and gentle woman by her family and friends. It was her unique quality of empathy for others, extended to everyone; friends, family and strangers, that will be her legacy.
Sue was a dedicated Mother, a single parent to twin boys, she brought love, strength, and tenacity into her parenting. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Nana to her three grandchildren. She is described as a "good friend" by her oldest friends, her colleagues at NY State, and her very precious friends in the Stone Bridge community of Ballston Lake who brought loving humanity via soup and laughter into her more difficult days.
Susan was born on December 14, 1953 in Albany, NY. She is pre deceased by her parents Gloria Eva Maynard and Karl E Krauss. She graduated from Shaker High School in 1971 she went on to study nursing St Margaret's Hospital in Albany. Sue was employed for many years by The State of New York in many capacities, most recently the department of Financial Services.
She is survived by her two precious boys, and their children who were the center of her world. Adam M Guhin, wife Jennifer L. and son Michael of Rome NY and Aaron J Guhin, wife Katie M and daughters Abigail and Alexandra of Kingsburg CA.
Also surviving are her sisters Diane Clarke, (Paul) of Paradox, NY and Carol Martell, (Larry) of Oldsmar, Fl, and Amy Zanghi, (John) of Saratoga Springs.
Sue was a much loved and cherished "Auntie Sue" to nieces Amanda Bohn,(Marcus) Emily Barr and daughter Viveca, Kelly Matney (Luke) and Christina Roka, Nicole and Jessica Zanghi, and nephew Nathan (Tara) Moody. She was a consistent supporter of her eight great nieces and nephews.
