Susan M. Brooks

COLONIE – Susan M. Brooks, 41, passed away peacefully at her parent's home on Thursday, March 19, 2009, surrounded by her loving family. Susan graduated from Colonie Central High School in 1985 and obtained her associates degree from S.U.N.Y. Cobleskill. She worked in the floor covering business for many years and more recently, owned and operated Bella Floors in Wynantskill. Susan also owned Six Tails Pet Sitting. She was a member of the Capital Area Professional Pet Sitters (CAPPS). Susan is the beloved daughter of Raymond and Cheryl (Saddlemire) Brooks of Colonie. She is the devoted sister of Steven (Lori) Brooks and Spencer (Angela) Brooks, both of Colonie. She is the cherished aunt of Sarah and Taylor Brooks with whom she had a close and special bond. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles and cousins. Susan will be remembered as being devoted to her many pets, especially her dog, Melvin who preceded her.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Funeral services will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in Memory's Garden. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, 5001 Angel Canyon Rd., Kanab, UT 84741-5000 or to a local animal shelter of your choice in memory of Susan M. Brooks
