Susan Matan

Susan H. Matan of Guilderland passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2024.

She was predeceased by her parents, Gladys J. and Arthur A. Wilkes; her daughter, Patty and sons, Bobby and Jimmy.

Upon retiring from the NYS Insurance Dept., she enjoyed spending time with her family at Brant Lake.

She is survived by her sons, Jay (Becki), David and Bill; her sisters, Nancy (Robert) Reedy, Janet (Ronald) Russett and her adopted big brother, David Blair. She leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; several cousins and good friends, her poker buddies, Mary Sullivan, Rose DeSorbo and Georgiana Natale; her good friend, Tina Yerbury and her sister, Ginger.

Keeping her busy while working, she was active with CSEA, Local President and Board Representative for many years. 

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd., Watervliet, NY on Thursday October 3, 2024 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. A memorial service will be held Thursday October 3, 2024 at 12:00 pm at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow the service at Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands, NY.
