Susan Marie Shea

 ALBANY-- Susan Marie Shea 70, of Albany, beloved sister and aunt passed away on January 4, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Susan faced her illness with incredible strength and grace and died peacefully at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Albany on January 1, 1955, the daughter of the late John F. and Anna M. (Kearns) Shea. Susan was a 1973 graduate of Philip Schuyler High School. She worked for many years at the Holiday Inn, Turf Hotel in Albany, New York.

Besides spending time with her family, Ms. Shea enjoyed watching television, and doing word search puzzles. She was an avid fan of Elvis Presley and loved dogs. She was a member of the Parish of the Church of the Blessed Sacrament in Albany. 

Survivors include one brother, Jerry Shea of Albany and two sisters, Carol VanWie, of Albany, and Eileen (Edward) Kruzinski of Delanson. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Kathleen Shea, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brothers, John and Michael Shea.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Andrea Davis for all the care and support that she gave to Susan and them during this time. 

Relatives and friends are invited to her calling hours on Sunday, January 12, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. All are invited to attend her funeral Mass on Monday, January 13, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, 607 Central Avenue, Albany, NY 12206. Entombment will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
