ALBANY- Susan A. Kirtley Van Buren, 57, of Albany passed away on Wednesday April 12, 2006 at her residence after a long illness. She was born in Albany and is the daughter of Alice Benway Kirtley of Albany and the late Donald Kirtley.
Susan had worked as a legal secretary for the Law firm of Louis B. Oliver in Albany for many years. She was an avid reader. She was a member of the Joseph A. Zaloga American Legion Post and the Polish American Citizens Club.
She is the beloved wife of Elmer W. Van Buren. She is the beloved mother of Melissa A. Van Buren of Albany and Erica L. Van Buren of Niskayuna. She is the devoted sister of Donna (John) Marshall, David (Marchelle) Kirtley, Stephen (Linda) Kirtley, Keith (Tamara) Kirtley, Lisa (Thomas) Hart, Michael (Tracy) Kirtley, Cheryl (Michael) Popson, and Shelly (Bob) Kirtley. She is the cherished grandmother of Marshall W. Van Buren and Cody J. Walter. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday morning at 9:30 at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Albany, 445 New Karner Rd. Albany NY 12205 in memory of Susan A. Van Buren.
