Suzanne M. Emmons, unfortunately, passed away after a long battle with cancer on Monday, December 12th at Albany Medical Center with her husband and son at her side.
Born on April 15th, 1961 in Albany, NY, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas Peter Dudo and Dorothy Kalfa Dudo. She stayed near her family in Albany NY for the rest of her life.
Growing up in Albany she went to Bishop Maginn for high school where she developed a passion for hard work. Later, she shaped her career at Siena College, earning a B.A in Accounting with Magna Cum Laude honors. Her perseverance paid off once again and she was accepted into the M.B.A program at the State University of New York at Albany for Business Administration where she graduated at the top of her class.
She was employed at General Electric as a Systems Designer and Accountant then later at Saint-Gobain/ Norton Industry where she was a Data Analyst. She received many awards for her excellence and diligent work on early computers. Years later, she decided to get married and become a mother. Out of all these responsibility-filled careers, being a mom was the job she loved the most.
Some of her favorite pastimes included spending time with her family, baking, thrifting, traveling, celebrating the holidays, and staying warm next to the fireplace. Her dog, Bandit, was whom she loved most of all, they were inseparable.
Suzanne is survived by her husband after 32 years of marriage, Todd Winthrop Emmons whom she loved very much. Her two children Gregory M. Emmons of Albany, NY, Nicole Brittany Emmons of Greenpoint, NY. Her brother James (Shireen) Dudo of Clarence, NY along with their son Justin Dudo. Besides her parents she is predeceased by her brother Peter J. Dudo.
The family will receive relatives and friends for the Funeral Service on Monday, December 19th from 10am to 11am, with a service to begin at 11am at the St. Sofia Greek Orthodox Church. 440 Whitehall Rd, Albany, NY, 12208. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery, Albany, NY.
