COLONIE, NY – Suzanne M. (Fahey) Harris, 75, passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's, with her loving family by her side. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Gustavas and Mary (Halloran) Fahey. She attended St. Joseph's Academy and then worked for New York Telephone. Suzanne was an auxiliary officer at the P.A.C.C. and a member of the ladies auxiliary at the American Legion Zaloga Post. She loved a party and enjoyed dancing. Many happy times will be remembered with her on the dance floor with her sisters (The Fahey Girls) or her friends. She especially loved to polka with her favorite partner, her brother Jack. Suzanne loved a wide range of music, but every Sunday morning would find her listening to her beloved Polish-Irish on 88.3 FM. In addition to her parents, Suzanne was predeceased by her husband, Philip F. Harris, her son, Philip D. Harris, her sister-in-law, Marilyn Fahey, her uncle John Halloran and her beloved canine companion, Lala. Suzanne is the devoted mother of Victoria (Thomas) Niles and the cherished grandmother of Jessica, Michael and Zachary Niles. She is the loving sister of Jack (Cate) Fahey, Mary Ellen (Daniel) Dedrick, Barbara (Robert) Bulson and Virginia (Ernest) Peretta. She is the sister-in-law of Jacob (Pamela) Harris and the dear friend of John Stefanik. Also surviving are her many nieces and nephews who will greatly miss their fun-loving aunt. Suzanne was a loving and beloved mother, grandmother "Paki", sister and friend. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her. Her family would like to thank Senior Comfort at Home, especially April, Ashley and Michelle who gave Suzanne and her family support and care during this very difficult time.
Funeral services will be Thursday morning at 10:00 a.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory Gardens, Colonie. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mohawk & Hudson River Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave., Menands, NY 12204 in memory of Suzanne M. Harris.
