Swamidoss Ambavaram

ALBANY-Swamidoss Ambavaram, 72, of Albany passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at his residence. He was born in Pulivindla, A.P., India, the son of the late Philip and Kamala Ambavaram. Swamidoss completed his nursing training in India and immigrated to the U.S. in 1972. He worked as a R.N. at Albany Medical Center and Stratton V.A. Medical Center in Albany. Swamidoss was a longtime member of Colonie Christian Life Center and during the past few years a member and elder of First Assembly of God Church in Albany. He will be remembered most for being family oriented, committed to serving others and having a generous spirit.
Swamidoss is survived by his loving wife Margaret (John) Ambavaram, whom he married in 1968, his daughters Esther (Christopher) Vrooman and Cindy (Jamie) Veeder , by his twin grandchildren Maryn and Benjamin, siblings Jeeva Prasad, Sujana, and Suguna of India, several nieces and nephews and extended family.
Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7PM on Friday, April 19, 2013 at First Assembly of God Church, 477 Krumkill Rd., Albany.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at the church with Pastor Randy Anson and Pastor Emilio F. Landy, officiating.
Interment will be at Graceland Cemetery, Albany.
In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Swamidoss may be made to the Diabetes Association or to the First Assembly of God Church.
