Colonie – Sylvia E. Mikula, 22, passed away Wednesday February 16, 2011 surrounded by her loving family.
Sylvia was born in Albany the daughter of Roman and Alina (Mazur) Mikula and was a lifelong area resident. She was a graduate of South Colonie High School Class of 2006 and attended Hudson Valley Community College. Sylvia had worked at DeMarco's Restaurant and was presently working at Beff's in Albany. She loved children whether she was related to them or not and they loved her. She liked to cook and swim and loved her family.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her brothers Robert Mikula and his wife Iwona of Poland and Jack Mikula of Colonie, maternal grandmother Weronika Mazur, paternal grandfather Julian Mikula of Poland and many aunts, uncles and cousins in the United States and in Poland.
The funeral services will be Monday 8:15am from New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie then to St. Clare's Church, Colonie where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00am. Calling hours will be Sunday 2:00 to 6:00pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
