Tariq "Tahji" Jamel Salley born in Brooklyn, New York residing in Watervliet, New York passed away on Tuesday January 14, 2014 at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, Massachusetts.
God called Tariq home to rest, leaving behind his beloved sisters; Ylvonne (Miguel) Gonzalez, Nia Salley, Wyneem Thomas, his brothers; Shawn (Nakeia) Salley,and Omar Salley, his grandfather; Robert Salley, and his nieces and nephews; Naishi Gill, Erica Thomas, Seven Salley, Ryder Salley, Aniya Salley, and Omari Salley. Tariq was predeceased by his mother Rhonda Salley and his grandmother Elaine Shaw. He is also survived by a close friend Leah Butler and numerous other friends and family.
Tariq was known for his compassion, bright smile, soft spoken voice, and his ability to help others. Anyone who knew him was blessed to have him in their life.
Funeral services for Tariq will be Saturday January 25th at 2:00 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Calling hours will precede the services from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
