ROTTERDAM – Terrance D. O'Donnell, 73, of Rotterdam, passed away peacefully on Thursday December 24, 2009 at his residence. He was born in Great Barrington, MA and was the son of the late James M. and Mary Dovey O'Donnell.
Terry had served in the US Army from 1955 through 1957. He attended Siena College and Hudson Valley CC. He was a lineman with Niagara Mohawk Company for thirty five years, retiring in 1996. He was a lifelong fan of the Boston Celtics and Boston Red Sox. He could always be found watching his children's and grandchildren's sporting events. He was also an avid golfer.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Therese Kelly O'Donnell; his children, Colleen O'Donnell-Nichols (Henry), Daniel J. O'Donnell (Mary), Patrick S. O'Donnell (Mary) and Michael T. O'Donnell (Yvette). He is the brother of Margaret Cullinane (Jack) and James R. O'Donnell (Sandra). He is the cherished grandfather of Erin, Danielle, Sean and Bridget O'Donnell, Rebecca and Julie Nichols. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Catholic Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday morning at 10:00 at St. Gabriel's Church, Hamburg St. Schenectady. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie. Interment will be in Memory's Garden. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Schenectady, 1411 Union St. Schenectady, NY 12308.
