CLIFTON PARK – Thelma E. Walker entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, June 09, 2009 at St. Peter's Hospital, after a short illness. She just celebrated her 86th birthday on June 3rd. Thelma was born and raised in the South Shore area of Massachusetts. She moved to Ohio in the 1950's where she was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Elmore. She relocated to New York in the 1960's and became a member of the Halfmoon Senior Center and Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, both in Clifton Park. Thelma graduated at the top of her class in 1985, when she was in her 60's, from Stafford for computer programming. For several years she worked at Saratoga Printing as a linotype operator. Thelma loved horses, was a computer enthusiast and a published author. Above all, she loved her family. Thelma is the beloved wife of Howard A. Walker. She is the devoted mother of Richard A. Walker and his wife, Zoraida, Dana G. Rafferty, Joyce L. Fitzgibbon and Debora A. Dundon and her husband, Alfred, 3rd. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Memorial Service on Sunday, June 14th at 3:00 p.m. at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Rt. 146, Clifton Park. A reception will follow the service and all are welcome to attend.
