ALBANY-Thelma K. Peters, 57 of Albany, NY passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at Hudson Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was born in Albany, NY on May 9, 1956. Thelma volunteered for the Salvation Army in Albany.
Thelma is survived by her mother Katherine (Grimes) Graham; her children Falita Friday (Al) and Reuben Tanner, Jr. (LaQuanda); her grandchildren Charlita, Laree, Kiyonna, Jamira and Kyara. She is also survived by her sister Carmella Sydnor; brother in law Joseph Cromartie; nieces Nia Cromartie, Estralita Cromartie, and Takia Sydnor; great nephew Tayshawn; great niece Ajalae; cousin Richard Grimes, Jr. and by a host of extended family and friends.
Thelma was predeceased by her father David Peters; by a son Aaron Pinkney and by her sister Pamela Cromartie.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 420 New Scotland Avenue, Albany, NY 12208.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in memory of Thelma.
