COLONIE – Thelma M. Maloney, 79, of Colonie, passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday March 27, 2012, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Schenectady and was the daughter of the late Harvey and Letitia Place. Thelma was employed for ten years with NYS Department of Education and more recently as a legal secretary with the Nicholas Morsillo Law Firm in Schenectady. She was tremendously charitable and enjoyed baking and spending time with her family and her cherished grandchildren.
Thelma is survived by her longtime companion, Donald F. Gibbons. She is the beloved mother of Kathleen Center, Nancy Sniffen, Laura (Timothy) Huggett and James Thron. Thelma is the sister of Carol Homic, Patricia Gross and the late Harvey Place and the sister in law of Suzanne Place. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren; Christina Zullo, Jessica Sniffen, Nicole Fatato, Eric Center and Ashley Thron; 5 great grandchildren; Antonio, Dominic and Isabella (Bella) Zullo and Adrianna and Anthony Fatato as well as several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Memorial services on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Indian School, 1301 N. Main Street, Chamberlain, SD 57325.
