Thelma Westervelt

ALBANY- Thelma M. Westervelt, 86, of Albany, died Monday September 19, 2005 at the Guilderland Center Nursing Home. She was born and raised in Albany and was the daughter of the late Clifford and May Schrieber Westervelt.
Thelma worked as a secretary for the New York State Civil Service and for many years with the Dept of Audit & Control, before retiring in 1977. She is survived by her cousins, Eleanor Reese of Altamont, Dorothy Pearson of Castleton and George Kirkham of Wynantskill.
Funeral services will be Friday at 12 noon at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Friday morning from 10:00 to 12 noon at the funeral home. Interment will be in Albany Rural Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mohawk Hudson River Humane Society, Oakland Ave., Menands, NY 12204 in memory of Thelma M. Westervelt.
