ALBANY – Theodore "Ted" Anton, 75, passed away on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at St. Peter's Hospital.
Ted was born on March 24, 1934 in Evgarenos, Greece and was the son of the late Evangelos and Olga (Gotsou) Antonopoulos. He was predeceased by his wife, Valerie (Alston) Anton; his daughters, Lisa and Lorna Anton and his sister, Eleftheria Googas.
Ted owned and operated Anton's Glass Co. in Albany for many years before retiring. He was a lifetime member of St. Sophia's Greek Orthodox Church. Ted was a hard worker and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Ted is survived by his son, Darrin M. Anton; his sister, Mary Sarris; his brothers, Arthur (Pauline) Anton and John Anton; his mother-in-law, Josephine Alston and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery. Calling hours will be held at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.) on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. A Trisagion service will be held on Friday at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
