Theodore Glenn Bosworth ("Ted") was born in Pawtucket, R.I., Feb 7, 1930, and he died in Albany, N.Y. on January 22, 2012. He was the second youngest of 6 children. Ted was honorably discharged from the US Army, having served as a cryptographer in Guam and then in the Korean War. He earned a degree in accounting from Sienna College. He worked for Schenectady International for 34 years, most of them as its Comptroller. Ted and his good friend / business partner, Dave Cavanaugh, owned Cassedy Piano and Roberts Piano for a number of years.
Ted married Barbara Russell Collins on February 15, 1975, becoming step-father to her two children, Ralph and Michelle. He has been an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints since 1968. He believed in the scriptures and loved gospel hymns. On many occasions, he and Barbara would sit together at the piano, playing and singing old gospel hymns.
Ted had many great friends whom he loved. His interests included coin collecting and traveling (especially to Hawaii). His work as Comptroller at Schenectady International took him to 14 countries over the years. He also enjoyed gardening, cooking, and barbecuing.
Ted was a devoted husband, father and friend and committed his life to his family, church and work. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, his children, Ralph (Shauna) Collins and Michelle (Scott) Hayden, his seven grandchildren, his brother, Matthew (Mary) Bosworth, and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held for Ted on Friday, January 27, 2012 at noon at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home located at 343 New Karner Rd., Albany, N.Y. 12205.
