Theodore R. LaMountain, 81, of Albany, passed away on October 24, 2021.
He was born on May 8, 1940 to the late Theodore and Elizabeth (Matthews) LaMountain in Albany, NY.
Ted met the love of his life Carol on a blind date in 1959. They were married that same year and had 50 plus years together before her passing in 2014. In 1969 Ted and his brother in law Vern built the home that he and Carol raised their family in.
Ted worked as an Inspector for General Electric for almost 30 years. Upon retiring from GE he worked at Robinson's Hardware in Guilderland. He then worked as a Bus driver for the Guilderland School District for kids with special needs. Ted was a life member of the Westmere Fire Dept and during this time he held many titles including Chief, Commissioner and Director. He enjoyed fishing and camping and vacationing in Cape Cod. A lifelong hobby of his was woodworking. Ted really took pride puttering outside and caring for his yard.
Ted is survived by his daughters Theresa (Raymond) Jurevicius, Alisa (Olaf Christian) Hausgaard, Heather (Mark) White, grandchildren Lora (Syrell) VanDyke-Restifo, Kevin Syrell Jr., Emily (Hausgaard) Crescitelli, Marie Hausgaard, Jacob Hausgaard, Logan White, Ella White, great grandchildren Nathaniel VanDyke-Restifo, Isabelle Crescitelli, Bridget Crescitelli. Ted is also survived by Vernon Meyer, Joyce (Brian) Mattice, nephews Brian (Katie), Matthew (Ana), great niece Kaylin and great nephews Mason and Jackson as well as cherished friends Mike and Nancy Sokil, Henry Smith and Blase Regina.
The family would like to thank Drs. Filippone and Wind, nurse Tracy and St. Peter's Hospital ICU staff.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 29, 2021, from 4:00pm-7:00pm New Comer Cremations & Funerals, Colonie, New York.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021, 11:00 am at the Christ the King Church, Albany , New York
Interment to follow in the Prospect Hill Cemetery .
