TROY, NY – Theodore (Ted) R. Martin, 63, ended his struggle on March 23, 2007 at St. Peter's Hospital after a courageous battle with leukemia. He was born in Cohoes and was the son of the late Theodore and Hazel Martin. Ted recently retired from Quadgraphics in Saratoga. He previously worked as a foreman and machinist for the Al Tech Specialty Steel Co. for 22 years. Ted enjoyed racing at Lebanon Valley Speedway and won many trophies with this car, "Thunder Road." He is survived by his wife, Karen Martin and his son, Matthew. He is the brother of Anne (Tony) Sheeley. He is the good friend of Jim (Joyce) Floud and Frank (Chris) Berard. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and his furry kids, Gilmore, Libby and Kitty. In addition to his parents, Ted was also predeceased by two sisters, Hazel Derocher and Gloria Blake and one brother, George Matthews.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, Ted's family asks that friends do an act of kindness for a stranger in memory of Ted.
