COLONIE - Theodore W. Kositzka, Jr., 78, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 3, 2011 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Ted was born on May 29, 1932 in Albany and was the son of the late Theodore W. and Margaret (Harris) Kositzka, Sr. He was a foreman for Tobin Meat Packing Co. for 25 years before their closing. He then worked for Albany Air Cargo until his retirement in 1995. He was a member of Christ Our Light Catholic Church (formerly a member of Our Lady of Mercy). He was an avid golfer having made two holes in one and an avid bowler having bowled two 300 games.
Ted is survived by his wife of 59 ½ years, Janet A. (Sommers) Kositzka; his loving son, Theodore W. Kositzka, III of Albany; his loving daughter, Penny M. (Ron) Shadick of Chester, VA; his cherished grandchildren, Danielle S. Scheivert and RJ (Rachael) Shadick; his cherished great-grandchildren, Ronnie and Rileigh Shadick; and his sister, Peggy (Robert) Ryan. He was predeceased by his sister, June Miller.

Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road., Colonie, then to Christ Our Light Catholic Church, Loudonville, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Colonie. Calling hours will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
