Theresa Rinaldi

May 23, 1924 — October 25, 2022

Theresa, "Terry" Rinaldi, 98, passed into the Lord's arms on October 25, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.

Terry is best remembered for having a loving, affectionate, and vivacious personality. She was a bright beautiful woman, both inside and out. Always smiling, talking, singing, and dancing, she created joy wherever she went. Terry loved going out with family, sitting at the bar with a martini or glass of wine and engaging with everyone around her – from a complete stranger to her closest friend. She was the center of attention, with an infectious personality and unique gift for making everyone around her feel special. She was a spectacular cook and loved to host holiday and dinner parties throughout her life. She was always smartly dressed, wearing heels whenever and wherever she went out. She enjoyed traveling around the United States and Europe with family members. Her warmth and vibrant personality will be missed and she will always remain in our hearts.

Terry was born in Albany, New York and graduated from the Academy of the Holy Names and Albany Business College. Growing up on Grand Street in downtown Albany, Terry worked in her family restaurant, the Bella Napoli. After high school she met her husband to be, Ambrose Rinaldi, and they married after he returned from World War II. After working at home caring for her family, she took a position as an administrative assistant in the Office of the Commissioner of the Department of Agriculture & Markets, where she worked for more than twenty years.

Terry was an active member of Saint Pius X Church in Loudonville, New York, and served as a lector and choir member at Avila Retirement Community, her home for the past 15 years.

Terry is the daughter of the late Cosimo and Alice Tarzia, and the love of her life, the late Ambrose Rinaldi, whom she was married to for 70 years. Terry had four children: Gary Rinaldi (MaryEllen), Andrew Rinaldi (Mary), Christopher Rinaldi (Lana) and Mary Hurteau (Daniel) and six grandchildren: Nicholas Rinaldi (Ann Marie), Kate Rinaldi, Peter Rinaldi, Alicia Hurteau, Gabrielle Hurteau and Michael Rinaldi. She is survived by her sister Matilda Duncan and predeceased by her sister Anne Zanotta and brother Dominic Tarzia.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, on Sunday, October 30, from 3 to 6 p.m. The mass of Christian burial will be held at the parish family of St. Pius X Church, 23 Crumitie Road, Loudonville, NY, will gather at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 31 for a service of prayer and remembrance. All are welcome.

Terry will be joining her soulmate and late husband, Ambrose in eternal rest on a later date in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.
