Therese R. Shortall

Therese R. Shortall, 82, passed away peacefully on Friday, Aug 24, 2012 with her loving family by her side. She was born in Manchester, NH to Albert and Louise Demers. She retired from Travelers Insurance in 1992 and then continued working for the Colonie Public Library. Therese had a special place in her heart for her animals. She enjoyed the ocean, gardening, watching football and NASCAR and more importantly spending time with her family. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Martin A. Shortall.

Therese is survived by her beloved children, Kathleen (Brian) MacIntosh, Marlene (Michael) Zaczek Sr., Colleen (Thomas) Breslin and Charlene (Sal) Ruggiero. She is the adored grandmother of Michael Esposito, Thomas (fiancée Tracy Cooper) Breslin, Derek (fiancée Rebecca Volpe) Breslin, Jason Breslin, Chris Breslin and Nicole Breslin. She is also survived by her siblings, Roger Demers, Rita Royer, Lucille Sweeney, Doris (Robert) Henderson and Richard (Michelle) Demers and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to all of Therese's special Angels here on earth for all of their care and compassion given to her over the last several months.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 9am at St. Clare's Catholic Church, Colonie. Interment will follow the Mass at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery. The family will receive friends for calling hours on Wednesday from 5 to 7 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie.
