Thi N. Huynh

Mrs. Huynh Ngo Thi, 90, of Schenectady, NY passed away peacefully in her sleep on Dec 15, 2016 at her residence. Born on July 1st 1926 in Hai Nan, China, Thi left at the age of 22 to join her husband Huynh Nham in Viet Nam. Together, they successfully ran a coffee shop and raised their 4 children. She became a young widow at 47 but continued to thrive with the business. When the Vietnam War ended, she sent her two youngest sons to America for a better life and freedom. She, along with her two older children reunited with the two sons in America in 1986 and lived here until she passed away.

She will be remembered for always having a smile on her face. She was always a happy and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In her later years, she enjoyed watching Vietnamese singing. She loved having company over and always made sure everyone was well fed. She was a devout Buddhist and often went to the temple until her health became poor.

Survivors include her oldest son Phuong Huynh (Phu Buu), daughter Muoi Huynh, son Tai Huynh (Yen) and son Quang Huynh (Dao); her 8 grandchildren Khuong Huynh, Tinh Huynh, Julianne Riendeau (Christon), Adam Huynh, Alex Huynh, Valerie Hardenbergh (Matthew), Vinh Huynh and Jonathan Huynh along with 4 great grandchildren Tyler, Matthew, Avery and Addison.

Viewing hours for relatives and friends will be held on Tuesday 12-20-2016 from 5pm and 8pm at the New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road , Albany NY 12205. Burial will be held at the Memory Garden Cemetery, in Colonie NY on Wednesday 12-21-2016 at noon.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking the donation to be made to The Community Hospice of Schenectady in her name.
