NISKAYUNA – Thomas E. Brennan, 77, of Niskayuna, passed away on Monday, May 21, 2007 at the Community Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late J. Joseph and Elizabeth Brennan. He lived in Albany and was a graduate of St. Teresa of Avila School, Christian Brothers Academy and BLISS School of Electronics and Engineering. Tom joined the National Guard in 1949 and married his wife, Jane on November 18, 1950. He had a successful career with the General Electric Co. as a Sr. Electrical and Lead Designer of production and computers in large motors and generators. Tom received numerous patents for his designs. He enjoyed woodworking and gardening. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Brennan was past president of the Holy Name Society at St. Teresa of Avila Church and a past member of the Knights of Columbus Council 173. Tom is the beloved husband of over 56 years to Jane E. (Keith) Brennan. He is the devoted father of Shannon (Charles) Cummings of Cape Vincent, NY, Deborah (John Mahan) Brennan of Voorheesville, Donna (Gary) Corell of Tempee, AZ, Monica (David) Rivenburg of Voorheesville, Noreen (Peter) Shunney of Knox and Mark T. Brennan of Glenmont. Tom is the cherished grandfather of Michelle (Michael) Garel, Colin Armitage, Eric Corell, Brian (Jennifer) Corell, Jeffrey and Kimberly Rivenburg and Laurie and Caren Shunney. Also surviving are Tom's very close friends and cousins, Dennis P. Murnane and Katherine Mooney. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, J. Joseph Brennan, Jr.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Teresa of Avila Church. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Troy.
