Thomas C. White

LOUDONVILLE – Thomas C. White (USMC, Sgt. Major, Retired) passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 22, 2012 with his daughter by his side.

Tom is survived by his cherished bride of 47 years, Martha A. Cunningham White; his loving daughter Debra White; his grand-dog Charlie; his brother Michael (Susan) White, Sister in law June White; brother in laws, Arthur (Debra), Billy Ray (Deborah), Alan Lee (Lisa) Cunningham, many cherished nieces and nephews; lifelong friends Jack and Sally Pallone and family, Sister Marilyn Murray, Sister Rose Hobbs and Sister Marianne Kennah along with a list of family and friends. Tom was predeceased by his parents George E. Sr. and Margaret Gannon White; his brothers George E. Jr. and Richard K. White and brother in law Eddie Cunningham.

Tom was proud of his 27 year career in the US Marine Corp., during which he received numerous awards and honors. After retiring from the Marine Corp, Tom worked for over 20 years at Niagara Mohawk Corporation. Tom was very active as an Associate of the Sisters of Mercy and spent many hours volunteering, most of then at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday May 28, 2012 from 4 to 7 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 9:30 am at the Convent of Mercy Chapel, 634 New Scotland Ave., Albany. Full military honors will follow at Saratoga National VA Cemetery. At the request of the family, memorial contributions are suggested to the SIsters of Mercy, Albany Community, 310 S. Manning Blvd. Albany, NY 12208, in memory of Thomas C. White.
