Guilderland - Thomas James Cullen, 46, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, December 29, 2016. Born in Albany, NY, Tom was the son of Paul and Barbara (Dyer) Cullen, and was the devoted husband of 25 years, and best friend of 31 years, to Cindy Cullen.
Tom served in the U.S. Army National Guard for 6 years. He was a field technician for 11 years, most recently with Open Systems which services security equipment throughout the Northeast. Tom enjoyed golfing and everything outdoors. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Along with his loving wife and parents, Tom will be forever missed by his son: Tyler Cullen, siblings: Brian Cullen, Diane Cullen (Robert) Moore, and Anne (William) Kinney; sister in law: Cheri Smith; brother in law: Wayne A. Smith, Jr.; nieces and nephews: Karly Moore, Melissa Moore, Seamus Kinney, Manus Kinney, and Vivian Kinney; along with several loved ones, family, and friends.
Tom is predeceased by his sister: Joanne Cullen, and his nephew: Jeffrey Moore.
Public calling hours will be held at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 9:00pm.
The funeral service will be held separately, and privately by the family, with the burial to take place at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Tom's best friend, Joseph A. Collorafi, and the good Samaritan who provided emergency services for Tom.
Due to flower Allergies, In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Tom's name to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society at:
